Richard Pleasance

Richard is currently composing the music for Clayton Jacobson’s new feature film Sibling Rivalry and the 6th series of Wentworth for FremantleMedia/Foxtel.

Richard is a talented multi-instrumentalist and composer. He is equally at home scoring gentle acoustic soundscapes as he is at composing gritty, urban electronica. His music has broad appeal and an engaging accessibility.

Richard’s music career took off in the mid-1980s after he formed the band Boom Crash Opera. He wrote or co-wrote a number of their hits, including Best Thing, Dancing in the Storm and Great Wall. He has also produced many award-winning albums for artists as diverse as Deborah Conway, Kate Ceberano, Archie Roach and Jimmy Little.
