Richard Pleasance

Richard is a talented multi-instrumentalist and composer. He is equally at home scoring gentle acoustic soundscapes as he is at composing gritty, urban electronica. His music has broad appeal and an engaging accessibility.

Richard has recently completed composing the music for Clayton Jacobson’s latest feature film Brothers’ Nest and is currently working on the 7th series of Wentworth for FremantleMedia/Foxtel.

Richard’s music career took off in the mid-1980s after he formed the band Boom Crash Opera. He wrote or co-wrote a number of their hits, including Best Thing, Dancing in the Storm and Great Wall. He has also produced many award-winning albums for artists as diverse as Deborah Conway, Kate Ceberano, Archie Roach and Jimmy Little.
