Richard is multi-instrumentalist and composer, equally talented at scoring gentle acoustic harmonies as he is at composing pulsing electronica. His music has broad appeal and an engaging accessibility.
Richard has recently completed work on the 9th, and final series of Wentworth for FremantleMedia/Foxtel and the comedy series Fam Time for Seven Studios/Network Seven. He is currently collaborating with Amanda Brown on the music for the FremantleMedia/Nickelodeon kids comedy drama series Rock Island Mysteries and consulting for the CJZ/Acorn TV series Darby and Joan.
Richard’s music career took off in the mid-1980s after he formed the band Boom Crash Opera. He wrote or co-wrote a number of their hits, including Best Thing, Dancing in the Storm and Great Wall. He has also produced many award-winning albums for artists as diverse as Deborah Conway, Kate Ceberano, Archie Roach and Jimmy Little.
